Michael Joseph appointed chairman Kenya Tourist Board
The Minister for Tourism, Hon. Najib Balala has appointed Michael Joseph
former Chief Executive of Safaricom as the Chairman of Kenya Tourist
Board (KTB) for the next three years with effect from 1st December,
2010.
The much awaited National Referendum for Kenyans to vote on the proposed new constitution was held on 4th August after rigorous but peaceful debate and campaigns and the results have now been officially announced by Kenya’s Independent Electoral Commission.
In recognition of her marketing and publicity initiatives the Kenya
Tourist Board has won awards at the just concluded Emirates Holidays
Brochure launch in Dubai and at the Indaba Tourism Fair in South Africa.
The Kenya government has launched a sensitization programme on
nationwide classification of tourists’ establishment with a view to
improving their standards.
The Kenya Tourist Board (KTB) has embarked on a mega tree planting
exercise in Naisoya in the Mau Forest complex, Narok district as part of
its commitment towards forest conservation efforts.
