MAGICAL KENYA PUBLICITY CAMPAIGNS IN RUSSIA
Led by Kenya’s Tourism Minister Hon. Najib Balala, Kenya Tourist Board and the Ministry of Tourism have rolled out an advertising campaign in Russia. Driven by Russian’s passion for wildlife and safari, the publicity campaigns will bring out the diversity of Kenya’s tourism offer famed for the big five and other numerous attractions.
In addition, the recently established Kenya office in Russia was commissioned, giving the destination the much needed representation in Russia and Eastern Europe for both consumers and travel trade too.

Effective from April 1st, 2009, visa fees were slashed by 50 percent. And in a move aimed at stimulating demand for family travel, the Kenya government further scrapped visa fees for children less than 16 years coming to Kenya as tourists. The Kenya government has waived the 16 percent Value Added Tax (VAT) on transportation of tourists to make it easier for hoteliers to do business. The government has also waived taxes on the importation of four-wheeled vehicles for tourists as well as zero-rating of taxable goods and services offered to production companies coming to shoot films in the country.
