Kenya Tourist Board Up For Top UK Travel Industry Award
Kenya Tourist Board has been nominated for one of the travel industry’s most prestigious awards. It has been shortlisted for the ‘Best Tourist Board’ prize in the TTG Travel Awards , run by the industry’s leading trade newspaper, Travel Trade Gazette. The winners will be announced at a spectacular ceremony at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel on 22nd September.
Lucy Huxley, editor of TTG, said: “We had a record number of entries this year, demonstrating the resilience of the travel industry in this recession, so any firm which is shortlisted can feel very proud. Entrants are rated by the travel agents they work with, before being judged by panels of industry experts. Winners truly deserve to be named the best in our industry.”
Karrol Yambo, Director of Marketing and Acting Managing Director at Kenya Tourist Board said: “These awards are regarded as a universal benchmark of quality within the travel industry. Being shortlisted is a tremendous achievement, particularly in a year when there have been a record number of entries from tourist boards. This nomination is also for all our partners and all lodges, camps, hotels and tourism companies in Kenya who continue to provide and promote Kenya to the UK.”
Judges for the awards include managing directors and chief executives of some of the biggest names in the travel industry, including Abta, Thomson and Virgin Holidays, in addition to leading figures from the worlds of commerce and retail.
TTG is the leading publication for the UK travel industry, with news and features read by frontline high street travel agents through to chief executives of FTSE-100 travel companies.
