17/5/2010 - KENYA TOURIST BOARD SCOPES INTERNATIONAL AWARDS
In recognition of her marketing and publicity initiatives the Kenya Tourist Board has won awards at the just concluded Emirates Holidays Brochure launch in Dubai and at the Indaba Tourism Fair in South Africa.
At the Emirates Holiday brochure launch, KTB won the Best National Tourism Board in the Middle East, Africa and Indian Ocean category. The Award was last year won by Mauritius Tourism Board and before then, the South Africa Tourism Board.
The award is sponsored by the Emirates Holiday, a division of Emirates group and is the largest Tour operator in the Middle East.
The Tourist Board also bagged the 2nd best Tourist Board award in the Good Safari Awards 2010 in Durban.
The good Safari award committee received 262 nominations from over 487 Tour Operators globally. The top award went to South Africa Tourist Board.
In the meantime, Kenya Tourist Board has launched various marketing campaigns in different markets worldwide. In South Africa, in order to raise destination awareness, the board has embarked on an outdoor advertising campaigns in major airports of South Africa complemented by TV Commercial on Seven DSTV channels.
KTB has also launched the “Jambo” campaign targeting the European market and consists of three commercials running on BBC worldwide and Euro news.
