The third edition of the annual CHE SHALE KITE MASTERS will take place at Che Shale, 20 minutes drive from Malindi town, beginning August 16th -18th, 2012
Like the prior years, the event will again raise funds for Watamu Turtle Watch.
Kitesurfing attracts thousands of devotees to Kenya and East Africa every year. The sport has a positive impact on the environment (powered by wind only) and has created jobs for local Kenyans along the coast from Diani to Lamu. Malindi now has its own annual Kite surf event at Che Shale.
Kitesurfing has become one of the fastest-growing sports in the world and will be featured as the newest watersport at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio.
Professional and local riders will take part in a fierce battle for the top prize in Freestyle, Racing and Wave riding events.
Perfect wind conditions, beautiful tropical beaches and ready access to Kenya’s world famous game parks brings out Malindi as an exciting new destination for ocean borne adventure.
This years event promises an amazing weekend of Kitesurf competition, beach games, raffles, BBQ beach party, fashion shows and more – All towards raising funds for Watamu Turtle Watch.
