The Desert Museum is located in Loiyangalani, on the Eastern shores of Lake Turkana popularly known as the Jade Sea. The Desert Museum was established in 2008 and reflects the rich cultural and natural heritage of Loiyangalani.

The Annual Loiyangalani Cultural festival celebrates the 8 communities living here bringing together both local and international visitors to discover and marvel this remote yet beautiful part of Kenya.
