Mt. Kenya School of Adventure and leadership (KESAL), partnering with Kenya Forestry Service (KFS), Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS), Kenya Tourism Board, Brand Kenya Board, Athletics Kenya(AK) and National Environmental Management Authority(NEMA) have come together to organize a Unique sports event dubbed Mount Kenya Extreme sports Challenge - 2011.
The event will take place at KESAL’s Marania Base camp at 9,200 feet above sea level.
Participants will report on 20th October (Mashujaa day), event will take place on 21st October and Departure on 22nd October 2011.
1. Extreme Adventure:
Involves a Team of four, going through a series of Extreme activities requiring stamina, agility, endurance, cognitive ability and team work.
2. Sky Marathon
This is an individual event, involving a jog to and from Lenana peak in one day! Starting at altitude of about 10,000 feet above sea level. It’s the ultimate athlete’s endurance testing physical, mental and psychological endurance.
3. Jungle Race
An experience nothing short of breath taking, literally breath taking!
4. Corporate Team Tasks
A bonus event for the TOP Event Sponsors. Teams will be taken through activities which will enhance bonding, break barriers and give them an opportunity to compete with other teams as they learn and network.
